THE OPPORTUNITY

At Scovan’s Drafting Team, our mission is to deliver innovative designs and high quality project deliverables. It’s about looking at things from a different perspective, execution and exceeding client expectations. We are looking for a dynamic designer/drafter that not only has the technical know-how in design but has the capacity to lead projects and demonstrate best design practices. As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will work directly with the project team and will be accountable for maintaining project schedule, budget and resources. This is a hands-on role – we’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to get in the trenches and lead by example.

The role will report directly to the Drafting Manager.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage projects, deadlines, and assign resources accordingly;
  • Monitor project scopes, schedules, and budgets as it pertains to design and drafting;
  • Ensure all drawings and drafting deliverables are prepared in accordance with Scovan Standards and Specifications;
  • Coordinate schedule for paperspace deliverables with Project Manager and Design Team;
  • Schedules and facilitates internal or external model reviews including weekly meetings with drafting teams to discuss drafting deliverables progress or updates;
  • Pursue design and drafting excellence. Be relentless in pursuit of opportunities to automate, optimize and advance productivity and efficiencies that help reduce overall costs and increases the quality of drafting deliverables;
  • Identify potential operational barriers and improve on the reliability of our design and drawings;
  • Provide technical guidance to drafters;
  • Collaborate with project teams, engineering team, electrical team and other project partners/stakeholders in the duration of a project.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of design and drafting experience;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, BricsCAD, CADWorx Plant;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software;
  • Hold either a degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited institution;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software;

Process Engineer

THE OPPORTUNITY

Process Engineers are leaders, problem solvers, and bridge builders. They provide technical process support for the entire project team and work closely with our clients to deliver exceptional results.  You will be accountable for executing technical strategies throughout the project lifecycle and will directly impact the Scovan customer experience.  Collaboration and interaction with your team will be paramount in ensuring exceptional results for our projects and our clients. This includes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, project controllers, vendors and suppliers.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a part of a dynamic team working with the project manager to execute process engineering responsibilities on challenging and innovative energy projects.
  • Lead and execute a wide range of process engineering deliverables, including heat and mass balances, PFD’s, P&ID’s, line designation tables, control narratives and shutdown keys.
  • Conduct equipment sizing, line sizing, PSV sizing, flare system sizing, and prepare equipment and instrumentation data sheets.
  • Conduct Feasibility Studies, Conceptual Design Studies, Detailed Engineering Design and Process Optimization.
  • Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
  • Review and understand scope of work to implement exceptional process engineering techniques and solutions.
  • Analyze complex technical issues and propose recommendations for mitigation.
  • Pursue engineering excellence. Be relentless in pursuit of opportunities to automate, optimize and advance productivity and efficiencies that help reduce overall costs and increases the quality of the project scope/engineering deliverables.
  • Ensures that the project execution is in accordance with the Scovan Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • APEGA Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng)
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable process engineering experience

  • Proficient in common industrial facility deliverables including:

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Scovan. This unique position involves providing on-site medical care and support to employees as well as ensuring a safe and healthy working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in an industrial setting.

This role reports directly to the Health and Safety Manager.

Fabrication Project Coordinator

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Fabrication Project Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the execution of fabrication projects from inception to completion. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in coordinating and managing fabrication projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Support the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Support procurement management
  • Assist in cost/schedule impacts from RFI’s or Design Changes
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather project requirements and provide regular updates on project progress.
  • Assist in monitoring project milestones, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure that materials, resources, and equipment are available and utilized efficiently.
  • Assist in preparing project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and closeout documents, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Project Managers are leaders, problem solvers, and bridge builders.  They are the face of our organization and work closely with our clients to deliver exceptional results.  You will be accountable for establishing and optimizing execution strategies throughout the project lifecycle and will directly impact the Scovan customer experience.  You will bring your management and people skills to drive cross-functional programs at scale. You seek to understand and get involved with technical engineering work as required to support project success.  As a Project Manager, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, project controllers, vendors and suppliers.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the Project Team, manage project workloads, deadlines, and assign resources accordingly
  • Accountable for project initiation and maintaining project scopes, schedules, budgets and milestones
  • Focused on an enhanced client experience and interacting with client stakeholders throughout the duration of a project
  • Pursue engineering excellence. Be relentless in pursuit of opportunities to automate, optimize and advance productivity and efficiencies that help reduce overall costs and increases the quality of the project scope/engineering deliverables.
  • Ensures that the project execution is in accordance with the Scovan Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP)
  • Identify potential operational barriers and improve on the reliability of our project deliverables
  • Provides accountability and governance for the project team
  • Communicate, Interface, and collaborate effectively with your manager, project team, vendors, and clients
  • Accountable for maintaining project schedule and milestones

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, and/or Project Management Certification (PMP) combined with oil & gas industry related experience
  • APEGA Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • To take ownership of the results and to work to improve future results
  • To provide leadership and accountability for the Project Team

  • Take initiative, advocate and exemplify teamwork, innovative thinking and problem solving.
