POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the Financial Controller is to collaborate with the executive team to determine more effective ways to handle corporate funding, tax issues and growth financing. You will be responsible for working with finance, accounting, and operations personnel to ensure that there are robust internal controls. The successful candidate will continuously look for ways to support our clients and add value, by building innovative approaches to conventional or unconventional problems.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the Financial Controller is to collaborate with the executive team to determine more effective ways to handle corporate funding, tax issues and growth financing. You will be responsible for working with finance, accounting, and operations personnel to ensure that there are robust internal controls. The successful candidate will continuously look for ways to support our clients and add value, by building innovative approaches to conventional or unconventional problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Work to streamline and document all processes
- Act as the primary support person for month, quarter and year-end financial activities
- Reconcile corporate balance sheets and deliver summary reconciliation reports to the executive team
- Ensure that all deductions and payroll activities are compliant with payroll laws
- Manage and actively run the cost accounting functions
- Manage and administer the inventory management processes
- Help with an ERP implementations and roll out
- Oversee all activities related to provincial and federal tax compliance issues
- Develop financial strategy, including risk mitigation plans and opportunity forecasting
- Improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the various business groups
- Approve invoices that need to be paid Follow up with customer accounts
- Assist with preparation of projections annually and update monthly with actual figures
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- Valid CPA preferred, but not required
- 10+ years’ experience in both financial and cost accounting
- Proficiency with accounting software

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a talented and motivated Human Resources Advisor who leads with good vibes and great energy. You will play a key role in supporting the People & Culture team and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all HR-related tasks.
This role reports directly to the VP, People & Culture.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on workplace issues, conflict resolution, and performance management
- Foster positive employee relations and promote an inclusive, engaging work environment
- Assist in the development, implementation, and updating of HR policies, guidelines, and handbooks.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to support the recruitment process, including candidate selection, and interviews.
- Support the design and execution of employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to implement training and development programs that align with organizational goals.
- Assist with salary reviews, benefits administration, and ensuring the organization remains competitive in the market.
- Provide employees with guidance on compensation and benefits-related questions.
- Lead or participate in special projects to improve HR processes and contribute to the organization’s strategic objectives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
- Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
- Understanding of Alberta Employment Standards as they relate to payroll and HR.
- Ability to handle sensitive material and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively problem solve and multi-task.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
