THE OPPORTUNITY
Project Managers are leaders, problem solvers, and bridge builders. They are the face of our organization and work closely with our clients to deliver exceptional results. You will be accountable for establishing and optimizing execution strategies throughout the project lifecycle and will directly impact the Scovan customer experience. You will bring your management and people skills to drive cross-functional programs at scale. You seek to understand and get involved with technical engineering work as required to support project success. As a Project Manager, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, project controllers, vendors and suppliers.
The role reports directly to the Director of Projects.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the Project Team, manage project workloads, deadlines, and assign resources accordingly
- Accountable for project initiation and maintaining project scopes, schedules, budgets and milestones
- Focused on an enhanced client experience and interacting with client stakeholders throughout the duration of a project
- Pursue engineering excellence. Be relentless in pursuit of opportunities to automate, optimize and advance productivity and efficiencies that help reduce overall costs and increases the quality of the project scope/engineering deliverables.
- Ensures that the project execution is in accordance with the Scovan Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP).
- Identify potential operational barriers and improve on the reliability of our project deliverables.
- Provides accountability and governance for the project team.
- Communicate, interface, and collaborate effectively with your manager, project team, vendors, and clients.
- Accountable for maintaining project schedule and milestones.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technologist.
- Project Management Certification (PMP) considered an asset.
- 10-15 years of industry experience, minimum 5 years of experience in project management.
- APEGA Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng) considered an asset.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
- To take ownership of the results and to work to improve future results.
- To provide leadership and accountability for the Project Team.
- Take initiative, advocate and exemplify teamwork, innovative thinking and problem solving.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Scovan’s Design Team has a mission to deliver innovative designs and high-quality project deliverables. It’s about looking at things from a different perspective, execution and exceeding client expectations. We have a diverse team of creative and knowledgeable designers that are constantly looking at different ways to do things better – to design better.
We are looking for a dynamic Senior Mechanical Design Lead that not only has the technical know-how in design but has the capacity to lead projects and demonstrate best design practices. You will work directly with the project team and will be accountable for maintaining the project schedule, budget and resources.
The role will report directly to the Design Manager.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage time and workload according to project and design team requirements;
- Lead and manage project design scopes, schedules, and priorities along with dedicated design resources;
- Ensure all drawings and drafting deliverables are prepared in accordance with Scovan Standards and Specifications;
- Pursue design and drafting excellence. Be relentless in pursuit of opportunities to automate, optimize and advance productivity and efficiencies that help reduce overall costs and increases the quality of drafting deliverables;
- Identify potential operational barriers and improve on the reliability of our design and drawings;
- Collaborate with project teams, engineering team, electrical team and other project partners/stakeholders in the duration of a project.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate designers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of eight (8) years of design and drafting experience and two (2) years of design lead experience;
- Proficient in AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant, Navisworks;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software;
- Hold either a degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited institution;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software;

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer / Designer to join our team and contribute to our upcoming project. You will be accountable for executing technical strategies throughout the project lifecycle and will directly impact the Scovan customer experience. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical Engineering
- Be a part of a dynamic project team, working with the Project Manager to execute electrical engineering responsibilities on challenging and innovative projects.
- Ensure project execution is in accordance with the Scovan Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP), applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project objectives, define success criteria, and develop effective electrical engineering solutions.
- Communicate, interface, and collaborate effectively with managers, project teams, vendors, clients, and other project stakeholders throughout the duration of a project.
- Advocate for sound engineering and design practices by ensuring project teams have the time and resources required to execute quality work.
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to exceed project objectives and deliver exceptional project outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the electrical design and drafting team as required.
Electrical Design
- Monitor project scopes, schedules, and budgets as they relate to electrical design and drafting activities.
- Ensure all electrical drawings and drafting deliverables are prepared in accordance with Scovan standards, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements.
- Coordinate and execute work in accordance with schedule requirements for electrical design and drafting deliverables in collaboration with the Project Manager and Design Team.
- Pursue design and drafting excellence by identifying opportunities to automate, optimize, and advance productivity and efficiencies that reduce overall costs and improve the quality of deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to drafters and other members of the design team.
- Collaborate with project teams, engineering teams, electrical teams, and other project partners and stakeholders throughout project execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8-10 years of experience of applicable project execution experience
- APEGA Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, advanced knowledge of Excel is a benefit
- You come with a technical electrical design background and have exposure to electrical design execution and responsibilities in your past roles
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills and the ability to manage in an environment of ambiguity with a diverse range of partners
- Experience working in continuous delivery environments where the pace is fast
- Expertise and competency in the following areas:
- Hazardous area assessment and classification
- Low and medium voltage power systems
- Electrical system studies and using SKM or ETAP software (short circuit, load flow, coordination, arc flash)
- Electrical and controls design, integration, equipment sizing and selection (generators, transformers, switchgears, MCC, PLC and control systems, heat tracing infrastructure)
